Jakarta - The Commander of Kodim 0505/East Jakarta, Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Nelson Paido, has confirmed that the case of alleged assault by a TNI member against an expedition courier in Cakung, East Jakarta, has ended peacefully.

“We have apologised,” said Nelson via WhatsApp message on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

Nelson assured that the member suspected of the assault is not personnel from Kodim 0505/East Jakarta.

“Regarding the sanctions imposed, that is the authority of his unit commander, but from the mediation results, it turned out there was a misunderstanding from that member,” Nelson explained.

Previously, an expedition courier was allegedly assaulted by a TNI member in the Cakung area, East Jakarta.

In a video uploaded by the Instagram account @Info.Cakung, a courier is seen being approached by two men. One of them is wearing a TNI uniform, while the other is in a blue T-shirt.

The man in the blue T-shirt appears to be holding the victim, who was inserting a package at the time. Shortly after, the man in the TNI uniform throws a punch towards the victim.

After the incident, several of the victim’s colleagues arrived at the scene. They appeared to try to intervene and briefly engaged in a verbal altercation with the perpetrator.

Based on the video’s narration, the incident allegedly began when the victim was about to deliver a package to the perpetrator’s house. However, after waiting for about 20 minutes, no one received the package.

Additionally, in a video uploaded by the account Feedmedsos, the alleged perpetrator is seen visiting the expedition office to apologise.

The TNI member appears to apologise directly in front of the victim and his colleagues at the expedition warehouse.

“Colleagues from the expedition, I apologise for this incident beforehand. I was at fault. Actually, this happened due to miscommunication,” said the alleged perpetrator.

He admitted to wanting to resolve the matter immediately, but the situation was heated at the time.

“In the morning, I reported the incident to my commander. This morning, I came here to settle it in a familial manner. I realise my mistake. To Mr Asep, I apologise and I take responsibility for the medical treatment,” he continued.
