Alleged Receipt of Vehicle from Karo Regent Leaves Karo Chief Prosecutor Silent and Smiling

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Member of Commission III of the DPR, Hinca Panjaitan, revealed information he received regarding the Chief Prosecutor of Karo, Danke Rajagukguk, who is facing issues related to the Amsal Sitepu case. Hinca stated that Danke and his team received vehicle assistance from Karo Regent Antonius Ginting. “I have received quite substantial information on this. I am worried that this has happened. I want it to be addressed later. If this is incorrect, please forgive me. But since it has come up, you must answer this, Mr Chief Prosecutor. Is it true that the Karo Regent provided vehicle assistance to the Tanah Karo District Prosecutor’s Office?” said Hinca during the Amsal Sitepu case meeting at the DPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (2/4/2026). Then, there is the Nissan Grand Livina with licence plate BK 1089 S used by the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office, Toyota Fortuner BK 1180 S, Toyota Innova, and others. Hinca suspects that perhaps the Karo Prosecutor’s Office is deliberately only seeking faults in creative workers because they have received something from the local government. “Is it because of this that you are only chasing and finding faults with the creative perpetrators? Not the state officials?” asked Hinca. At the end of the meeting, although Hinca repeatedly asked him to respond, he still did not address the vehicle provision. Danke was observed only apologising and admitting fault. “We apologise for all our mistakes and oversights. Thank you, Mr Chairman, as the Chief Prosecutor of Karo, I express my deepest gratitude for the input and criticism provided by the members of Commission III to improve and implement as conveyed by you all,” said Danke.
