Alleged Gay Party Held in Karawang, Several Male Couples Seen Embracing

Video footage showing several male couples embracing at a nightclub has gone viral on social media. The location is reported to be in the Karawang Regency, West Java.

In the footage, several male couples can be seen embracing openly. Netizens have criticised the footage and are calling on the police to take action.

Head of Public Relations for Karawang Police, Ipda Cep Wildan, stated that investigators, alongside the Karawang Regency Satpol PP, are currently investigating the video, which allegedly depicts an LGBT party. He noted that the incident is reported to have taken place at a nightclub in Karawang.

“The follow-up is being investigated by the police in coordination with the Satpol PP; we are awaiting the results,” he said when contacted on Monday (8/6/2026).

He added that authorities cannot yet confirm whether the event captured on social media actually took place in Karawang, as inspections and further investigations are still ongoing.

“It cannot be confirmed yet because inspections and further investigations are still being conducted, and the specific nightclub has not been identified,” he said.

He further explained that the police are working with the Karawang Regency Satpol PP to track down the nightclub in question, as the authority regarding business licensing lies with the Satpol PP.
