The Director of the Drug Investigation Unit (Dirresnarkoba) at the East Nusa Tenggara Police (Polda NTT), Brigadier General Ardyanto Tejo Baskoro, is under investigation by the Professional Standards Division (Propam) at the National Police Headquarters regarding allegations of extortion against drug trafficking suspects dealing in poppers. Ardyanto has already been removed from his position.

In the case, Brigadier General Ardyanto, along with six officers—Senior Commissioner Hadi Samsul Bahri (HSB), Inspector Ipda BB, Inspector Aipda Oryanto Toni (OT), Brigadier AI, Briptu LBM, and Bripda JG—are accused of extorting 375 million rupiah from Jefri Hutasoit and Sutardi Finata.

“He is undergoing investigation at the Professional Standards Division of the National Police Headquarters. The investigation is ongoing,” said the Head of Public Relations at Polda NTT, Brigadier General Henry Novika Chandra, speaking to detikBali on Sunday (15/3/2026).

Henry explained that the six assistant investigators from the Drug Investigation Unit of Polda NTT are being examined at the Professional Standards Division (Propam) of Polda NTT. They are currently awaiting a code of ethics hearing scheduled by the code of ethics commission of Polda NTT.

“They are being investigated at Polda NTT and are awaiting the code of ethics hearing,” Henry clarified.

According to Henry, should the investigation prove that they violated the professional ethics code as regulated in Police Regulation Number 7 of 2022, all officers involved will face strict sanctions including dismissal without honour from the Police institution.

“This is a firm step and evidence of the seriousness of the Police institution in conducting internal reform,” said Henry.

He emphasised that the Police Commander of NTT, Inspector General Rudi Darmoko, does not tolerate any form of violation committed by his personnel. Additionally, Polda NTT will hold a special case conference with the Professional Standards Division of the National Police to determine the legal status of Brigadier General Ardyanto involved in the extortion case.

Polda NTT urges the public to remain calm and trust the ongoing legal process. This step represents Polda NTT’s continued effort to reform and eliminate space for abuse of office in order to realise clean, transparent, and fair law enforcement in NTT.

“We are committed to taking firm action against every violation committed by our personnel. The enforcement of discipline and ethics codes is carried out professionally and transparently to maintain public trust in the Police institution,” concluded Henry.

In earlier reports, Ardyanto was deactivated from his position along with six officers on suspicion of extorting poppers distributors. The alleged extortion amount totalled 375 million rupiah.

In the case, the individuals distributing poppers were Hen Yosdad Rumboni, Sutardi Finata, and Jefri Hutasoit. All three were declared suspects on 25 March 2025 by Polda NTT.

Poppers is a prohibited drug banned by the Food and Drug Authority (BBPOM) from circulation because it contains isobutyl nitrite, which can cause stroke, heart attack, and death if misused. Additionally, poppers serve as a stimulant for individuals with sexual disorders, including LGBT individuals.

However, during the investigation process, Brigadier General Ardyanto and six assistant investigators from the Drug Investigation Unit of Polda NTT—Senior Commissioner Hadi Samsul Bahri (HSB), Inspector Ipda BB, Inspector Aipda OT, Police Brigadier AI, Briptu LBM, and Bripda JG—are suspected of extorting Jefri Hutasoit and Sutardi Finata for 375 million rupiah.

“To ensure objective handling of the case, the individual concerned has been deactivated from his position as Director of the Drug Investigation Unit of Polda NTT on suspicion of extorting two suspects initialled SF and JH with a transaction value reaching 375 million rupiah,” said the Head of Professional Standards Division at Polda NTT, Brigadier General Muhammad Andra Wardhana, on Sunday (15/3/2026).
