Alleged Domestic Violence Behind Woman's Screams at Bekasi Apartment
A woman in Bekasi is believed to have been a victim of domestic violence. The suspicion arose after the victim screamed for help from the balcony of an apartment in the Pekayon area, South Bekasi. A recording of the victim’s screams went viral on social media. In the circulating video, the woman, wearing a grey headscarf, is seen standing on a balcony with a white-painted wall. The echo of her cries for help was heard by a neighbour, who recorded the video. From behind the apartment door, a man’s voice could be heard faintly cursing the woman. Meanwhile, the woman was cornered on the balcony. She shielded herself with a pink laundry basket in her left hand. Objects were occasionally seen being thrown from behind the apartment door towards the woman standing on the balcony. She tried to fend off the thrown objects and blows from a piece of wood with the laundry basket while continuing to scream for help. He stated that police officers from the South Bekasi Police had checked the location. Police officers responded and immediately secured the victim. The victim was then directed to file a report with the Women and Children Protection Unit of the Metro Bekasi City Police regarding the alleged domestic violence she experienced.
