Alleged Corruption in Free Nutritious Meal Programme: PDIP Secretary General Expresses Deep Concern
PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto has expressed regret over the emergence of alleged corruption cases within the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. Hasto stated that such corruption should have been prevented before it occurred.
These remarks were made by Hasto following a film screening by Kulturnesia as part of the Bung Karno month commemoration at Metropole XXI, Jakarta, on Sunday (7/6/2026).
“If the aspirations of critical voices had been listened to, this could actually have been prevented from the start,” said Hasto.
Hasto noted that there have already been many critical voices from the public regarding irregularities in the MBG programme. Consequently, Hasto now supports the investigation of the case.
“Therefore, we are deeply concerned and we provide our support for all law enforcement efforts,” Hasto stated.
Hasto declared that from the beginning, PDIP has instructed its cadres to monitor irregularities within the programme. As a result, Hasto has instructed PDIP cadres not to be involved in the programme.
“From the beginning, when PDI Perjuangan saw that something was not right, we issued instructions prohibiting all PDI Perjuangan cadres from being involved in any commercialisation of this programme, which is intended for the people,” said Hasto.
