Alleged Corruption at Tabanan Health Office, Prosecutor's Office Yet to Name Suspects

The Tabanan District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari Tabanan), through its Special Crimes Section team, conducted a search at the Tabanan Health Office (Dinkes Tabanan) on Monday (10/8/2026). The search was carried out following allegations of corruption involving fuel, lubricants, and food and drink expenses for the 2023-2025 fiscal years.

Although the case has been elevated to the investigation stage, the Tabanan Prosecutor’s Office has not yet named a single suspect in the matter.

Tabanan Chief Prosecutor Medie explained that 18 witnesses had been questioned as of Tuesday (11/8/2026). The dozen or so individuals comprised employees, Health Office staff, and business partners.

“Those examined range from division heads to business partners. As for the head of the office, not yet,” said Medie.

Medie stated that his office would name suspects in the case within one month at the latest, or slightly longer.

During the search, the Tabanan Prosecutor’s Office seized hundreds of documents as well as electronic devices such as mobile phones and laptops suspected of being linked to the case.

In addition, investigators also confiscated cash amounting to Rp8,012,000 found in one of the drawers belonging to a Health Office staff member.

Medie explained that the money was suspected to be the remainder of funds previously withdrawn from a partner petrol station using fictitious official travel orders (SPPD) for fuel.

“The money is the remainder from using fictitious SPPD,” he explained.

Medie added that the case originated from a public complaint. The report was then followed up through an inquiry process until indications were eventually found that were deemed to have sufficient grounds to be elevated to the investigation stage.
