Alleged Case of Religious Teacher Sexually Abusing Five People in Puncak, Bogor, Escalates to Investigation

The suspect, identified as H, is now the subject of a formal investigation after the case was upgraded from preliminary inquiry, said AKP Silfi Adi Putri, Head of the Unit for Women and Children Protection and Special Crimes at the Bogor Police, on Saturday (16 May 2026).

Currently, investigators are gathering evidence in the case, with the aim of eventually naming the suspect.

“We are currently collecting two pieces of evidence to determine the suspect’s status,” she said.

Previously, police revealed that five people were victims of alleged sexual abuse by a religious teacher in Puncak, Megamendung, Bogor Regency. All five victims are male.

“So far, five people (victims) have been questioned. So far, all those questioned have been male,” said AKP Slifi Adi Putri, Head of the Unit for Women and Children Protection and Special Crimes at the Bogor Police, when asked about the number of victims of alleged sexual abuse by the religious teacher, on Sunday (19 April).

Silfi said that investigators are still investigating the testimonies of the victims. The results of forensic examinations and psychological assessments will then be used as a reference to summon the suspect for questioning.

“The suspect has not (been questioned) yet, because investigators will first refer to the forensic examinations and psychological assessments of the victims,” said Silfi.
