Allah's Rebuke to Prophet Ibrahim After Refusing to Help a Magian

KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim, or Gus Baha, recounted a narrative that illustrates the vastness of Allah SWT’s compassion for all His creatures. In the story, Prophet Ibrahim Alaihissalam once received a rebuke from Allah SWT after being reluctant to help or feed a Magian who came asking for assistance. In a video clip shared on social media, Gus Baha explained that many accounts from the Sufis tell of Prophet Ibrahim being asked for help by a non-Muslim who followed the Magian faith. Gus Baha narrated that Prophet Ibrahim once met a Magian. The Magian said to Prophet Ibrahim, ‘You often give food to people; could you feed me for just one day?’ Prophet Ibrahim replied, ‘I can feed you, but you must embrace Islam.’ According to Gus Baha, Prophet Ibrahim at that time held the view that helping a Magian was the same as helping an infidel. The Magian then left Prophet Ibrahim, who was unwilling to offer him help in the form of food.
