Allah's Promise to the Followers of the Prophets: No Fear, No Grief

Human life is perpetually shadowed by fear of the future and grief over loss. Neither wealth, status, nor technology can fully erase these feelings from the heart. For this reason, Allah SWT sent the prophets. Their mission was not merely to bring religious teachings or rituals, but to deliver glad tidings to those who seek the path of truth and warnings to those who turn away from divine guidance. Through the prophets, Allah shows the way to peace in this world and salvation in the hereafter, while also cautioning against polytheism, injustice, and corruption on earth. The Qur’an affirms this noble mission in His decree: ‘And We send not the messengers except as bringers of good tidings and warners. So whoever believes and reforms, there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve.’ (QS Al-An’am: 48). This verse contains a profound promise. Allah does not guarantee that believers will be free from life’s trials; they may still lose wealth, suffer illness, face failure, or lose loved ones. Yet there is a difference. Those who believe and follow the teachings of the prophets possess a foundation of faith that allows them to stand firm when life’s storms hit. They are not overwhelmed by excessive fear of the future, nor do they drown in sorrow when calamity strikes. This is because they understand that everything occurs by Allah’s decree. When they lose wealth, they are patient. When illness strikes, they seek treatment while placing their trust in Allah. When a loved one returns to Allah, they hold back tears with the certainty that every soul shall return to Him.
