All Vertical Hospitals to Operate During Long Holiday
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin has confirmed that all vertical hospitals across the regions will continue to operate during the long holiday period for Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr, which falls on 20-24 March 2026. “All vertical hospitals of the Ministry of Health, numbering nearly 40, will remain operational during this long holiday for all emergency procedures,” Budi stated in a written statement quoted on Thursday, 19 March 2026. He emphasised that all emergency services, such as emergency departments (IGD), CT scans for stroke cases, and surgeries for bleeding due to accidents, will be on standby 24 hours a day. “Those of an emergency nature or life-saving will operate fully,” Budi said. Budi assured that health personnel and supporting facilities are also ready to handle such emergency cases. The Ministry of Health, he said, has prepared thousands of facilities, including 3,292 hospitals, 10,300 community health centres, and 119,372 Public Safety Centres (PSC). In addition, around 2,700 health service posts will be activated in 31 provinces, supported by 51 Health Quarantine Centres. “This step is part of the strengthening of health services carried out by the Ministry of Health nationally to anticipate the increase in public mobility,” Budi said.
