All Steady Safe buses suspended
JAKARTA (JP): The Land Transportation Control Agency (DLLAJR) will temporarily revoke the operation permits of all Steady Safe bus fleets today for repeatedly breaching city regulations, city administration spokesman Soesila Darmoadji said yesterday.
DLLAJR chief J.P. Sepang said the suspension will be lifted as soon as the company complies with regulations and corrects the following infractions:
* 20 Steady Safe buses were not put on the Kampung Melayu-Klender and Kampung Melayu-Lebak Bulus routes on July 2 as is required.
* Instead of operating 80 regular buses on various routes, the buses were chartered.
* The company operated several buses without permits.
DLLAJR officials impounded seven Steady Safe buses yesterday. To fill in the vacuum DLLAJR has asked state-owned bus company PPD, city-owned company Damri and privately owned Mayasari Bakti to serve the routes usually handled by Steady Safe.
Sepang said the three companies have agreed to provide more buses until Steady Safe's permits are reissued. (bas)
