All Indonesian DPRD Chairmen Attend Retreat at Akmil Magelang, Becoming a Momentum to Strengthen Communication
Some 478 Chairmen of Regional People’s Representative Councils (DPRD) from across Indonesia are attending a retreat to strengthen coordination, national insight, and synergy between legislative institutions while supporting national development, at the Military Academy in Magelang, from 15 to 19 April 2026.
Bogor Regency DPRD Chairman Sastra Winara stated that the event provides an opportunity for DPRD leaders to exchange thoughts and experiences regarding local government management and the legislative role in promoting development. “This retreat is very positive for building a better Indonesia. In addition to strengthening national insight, the activity also serves as a forum to enhance synergy among DPRD leaders from all regions,” said Sastra on Thursday, 16 April 2026.
Sastra added that the event also represents an important momentum for strengthening inter-regional communication, enabling various development programmes to run more effectively. During the retreat, participants receive various materials related to leadership, nationalism, and strengthening the role of legislative institutions in supporting national development programmes.
The National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas) is holding the retreat, attended by 478 participants out of 557 DPRD Chairmen from provinces, regencies, and cities across Indonesia, in Magelang, Central Java. The aim is for the retreat to serve as a forum for aligning visions from the central government to local governments in welcoming Indonesia’s Golden Vision 2045.
Lemhannas Governor Ace Hasan Syadzily explained that the retreat is intended to produce regional leaders with statesman-like character, integrity, and national insight, who are capable of guiding national programmes, including the Asta Cita from President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming.
“Through this activity, the DPRD Chairmen can bring new enthusiasm in carrying out their duties and responsibilities in their respective regions, including in strengthening synergy between the legislature and executive for the progress of the regions and the nation,” he said.
