All First-Wave Hajj Pilgrims from Riau Have Returned Home
Flight Group (Kloter) BTH 12, which is Kloter 10 from Riau Province, became the last group of Riau Hajj pilgrims in the first wave to arrive back in the country. A total of 440 pilgrims and Hajj officers landed safely at Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam.
The Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for Riau Province, Defrizon, expressed gratitude for the smooth repatriation process of the first-wave Hajj pilgrims from Riau.
‘Alhamdulillah, Kloter BTH 12, which is Kloter 10 from Riau Province, has arrived safely in the homeland. This flight group closes the repatriation process for Riau Hajj pilgrims in the first wave of the 1447 Hijriah/2026 Masehi Hajj season,’ he said on Wednesday (17/6).
He explained that with the arrival of Kloter BTH 12, the total number of Hajj pilgrims and officers from Riau who have been repatriated reached 4,416 people. This figure comprises 4,351 Hajj pilgrims, 20 Regional Hajj Officers (PHD), 5 Hajj and Umrah Guidance Group (KBIHU) supervisors, and 40 flight group officers.
According to him, this achievement proves that the repatriation process for the first-wave Hajj pilgrims ran smoothly thanks to the synergy of all parties involved in the Hajj operation, both in the Holy Land and at the Batam Debarkation point.
Meanwhile, Riau Province Hajj pilgrims in Kloter BTH 18 are still in the city of Madinah. They are currently undergoing a series of worship, pilgrimages, and preparations ahead of their return to Indonesia.
‘Riau Hajj pilgrims in Kloter BTH 18 are currently in Madinah to perform worship and pilgrimages. God willing, this flight group is scheduled to arrive at the Batam Debarkation on 20 June 2026 at 13.50 WIB,’ he clarified.
He also conveyed his appreciation to all Hajj officers who have carried out their duties with full dedication, ensuring that services to pilgrims—from departure, performing the pilgrimage in the Holy Land, to the repatriation process—ran smoothly and orderly.
‘We thank all Hajj officers who have worked hard to provide the best service to the pilgrims. May all the devotion performed become an act of worship in the sight of Allah SWT,’ he said.
He hopes that all pilgrims who have returned to their respective regions can maintain the virtuousness of their Hajj and become role models in society.
‘May the Hajj pilgrims who have returned to the homeland always uphold the values of Hajj virtuousness in their daily lives and become good examples for their families and communities,’ he said.
He stated that with the arrival of Kloter BTH 12, all Riau Province Hajj pilgrims in the first wave have returned to the homeland.
‘Meanwhile, the repatriation process for the second-wave Hajj pilgrims will continue according to the schedule set by the Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH),’ he concluded.
