Jakarta - Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani said that all state-owned enterprises (BUMN), together with their subsidiaries and sub-subsidiaries, have officially become part of Danantara Indonesia as of 21 March 2025. The information was conveyed directly before President Prabowo Subianto.

"Since the launch by the President on 24 February 2025, we moved quickly and, alhamdulillah, since 21 March 2025 all 844 BUMN have officially become part of, and owned by, Danantara Indonesia," said Rosan at the Danantara Indonesia Town Hall event at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Monday (28/4/2025).

Rosan said Danantara had arrived at the right time. Amid current global uncertainty, all nations must rely on their own economic strength, including through vehicles such as Danantara.

"If we look at the recent sharp rise in geopolitical and geo-economic tensions worldwide, it has made many nations realise that we must rely on our own economic strength. We cannot depend on the external economic power of other people or nations. Therefore, Danantara has truly arrived at a very opportune time," explained Rosan, who also serves as Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM.

Additionally, Danantara will manage assets under the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg), such as the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) complex. Rosan said the GBK asset was valued at US$25 billion eight years ago and will officially be managed under Danantara.

"Other assets will be incorporated, and that includes what we have here — GBK. The assets held by the State Secretariat Ministry were valued eight years ago at US$25 billion. So GBK and all the locations here will be brought into Danantara," said Rosan.

Once GBK assets are incorporated into Danantara, Rosan said thorough planning would be undertaken to ensure they become productive assets generating returns on the investments made.

"GBK and all the locations here will be brought into Danantara, and thorough planning will be carried out so that these become productive assets — assets that can generate returns on assets and returns on investment in accordance with benchmarking parameters and criteria," said Rosan.

Rosan stated that the total assets now under Danantara amount to US$982 billion, originating from 844 BUMN including all tiers of subsidiaries. With the inclusion of GBK assets, Danantara will manage assets of up to US$1 trillion.

"So there are subsidiaries, sub-subsidiaries, and further levels below that. In total there are 844 companies, and they have officially belonged to Danantara since 21 March 2025. So we can carry out consolidation, and we have done so gradually, starting with the large ones that have a significant impact on the economy," Rosan explained.
