Alipi wins Solo Open

SEMARANG (JP): Bodybuilder Muhammad Alipi of Nirwana club, Surakarta, Central Java, grabbed the 55-kilogram division title at the Solo Open Bodybuilding National Invitational.

Hendy Heiyana of Tasikmalaya, West Java, was the runner up followed by Priyo Handoko.

Alipi's teammate Agus Wahono failed to follow in his footsteps, only finishing as runner up in the 60kg division. Hence grabbed the title to pocket Rp 1 million (US$90) and Putut of Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, was third.

In the 65kg class, Jalal of Gresik, East Java, won the title followed by Ade Sumantri of Bandung and Benny of Purwokerto, Central Java.

The event, in which 100 bodybuilders competed, was officially closed by Central Java deputy governor Mulyadi Widodo. (har)
