Ali Masykur Musa Urges More Reliable and Equitable SPKLU Infrastructure in Lampung

LAMPUNG — Independent Commissioner of PT PLN (Persero), Prof. KH. Ali Masykur Musa, visited the PLN Lampung Distribution Primary Unit office on Saturday, 23 May 2026, for a courtesy call. During the visit, he inspected the public electric vehicle charging station (SPKLU) facilities at the PLN Lampung UID office.

The visit is part of PLN’s efforts to ensure readiness of electric vehicle infrastructure across regions, particularly in Lampung, which serves as a strategic gateway for Sumatra’s mobility.

In addition to discussions with PLN Lampung UID management and staff, Ali observed the EV charging process at the SPKLU. He spoke with a customer charging their vehicle, discussing their experience with EVs, ease of accessing charging stations, and hopes for future development of the EV ecosystem.

“Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to have inspected the SPKLU facilities at the PLN Lampung UID office. PLN is not only ensuring reliable electricity supply but also preparing an EV ecosystem that meets growing public demand. This is crucial as the energy transition must be tangible, accessible, and directly benefit customers,” Ali stated.

He noted that SPKLU is more than a technical charging facility. It represents PLN’s service transformation in encouraging public behaviour change towards cleaner, more efficient, and sustainable energy use.

“SPKLU is not merely a vehicle charging point. It symbolises the energy transition becoming part of everyday life. PLN must be more than an electricity provider; it must drive change towards a cleaner energy future,” Ali said.

According to Ali, Lampung plays a vital role in developing the EV ecosystem as a key corridor between Sumatra and Java. Public mobility, including intercity travel, logistics, and daily activities, requires reliable and accessible electrical infrastructure.
