Ali Larijani's Appeal to the Muslim World Before His Death: The US-Zionists Will Never Loyally Protect Islamic Nations
Tehran — The Iranian government has confirmed the death of Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, on Wednesday, 18 March 2024. Through an official written statement released to the public, Larijani died during a follow-up attack by the Zionist Israeli-American aggression against Tehran on Monday, 16 March 2026, local time.
“Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has been announced as a martyr following US-Israeli aggression on Monday evening,” according to a report by al-Mayadeen cited on Wednesday, 18 March 2026.
Larijani had been one of Iran’s most important figures and held the second-strongest political position after the Supreme Leader, known as the Ayatollah.
Larijani’s death in the conflict against Zionist-American aggression made him the second-highest martyr, following the killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei by US-Zionist forces in the opening attack of the war on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
Before his death, Larijani wrote patriotic messages for Iran’s military and the entire Iranian nation. These messages, posted on his X account, related to the deaths of members of Iran’s Navy in the resistance war against US-Zionist forces.
“On the occasion of the funeral ceremony for the valiant members of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Navy: Their memory will forever remain in the hearts of the Iranian people, and this naval force will strengthen the foundations of the Islamic Republic’s army within the armed forces structure for the years to come. I beseech Almighty God to grant these beloved martyrs the highest station,” Larijani wrote in one message.
Several days before his death, Larijani also wrote six messages directed to Islamic nations in the Arab Gulf region.
In these messages to Islamic states in the Arab region, Larijani stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is not an enemy to the Gulf nations. The true enemy of Islamic states in the Arab region, he said, is Zionist Israel, together with the United States.
Iran is not at war and does not attack neighbouring Islamic states in the Middle East. Rather, it fights against two principal enemies of Islamic nations: Zionist Israel and the US, which have used Arab territories as bases from which to attack Iran.
Larijani also stated that the US and Zionist Israel are the primary enemies of Arab nations. The US-Zionists, he said, will never give their loyalty and will never provide protection to Arab and Islamic nations.
