Ali Larijani Reveals Alleged Conspiracy to Destroy Iran Using Scheme Similar to 2001 WTC Attack
Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has warned of what he describes as a possible conspiracy to blame Iran for a major terrorist attack.
He likened the alleged conspiracy to the 2001 World Trade Centre (WTC) attacks, which served as justification for the United States to invade Afghanistan.
“I have heard that remnants of the Epstein network have devised a conspiracy to create an incident similar to 9/11 and blame Iran for it. Iran is fundamentally opposed to such terrorist schemes and has no quarrel with the American people,” Larijani wrote on X.
Larijani’s statement comes as the United States and Israel are engaged in conflict with Iran.
The conflict escalated following a joint US-Israeli strike against Iran last month. The assault killed 86-year-old Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and triggered wider warfare across the Middle East.
In response, Iran has launched attacks against Israel and US military bases located in Gulf states. Israel and the US have continued striking Iranian targets. According to reports, the conflict has killed more than 2,000 people, predominantly in Iran.
The Pentagon stated that US and Israeli forces have struck more than 15,000 targets throughout Iran since the conflict began. US media also reported that the Pentagon has deployed the amphibious assault ship USS Tripoli to the region, along with approximately 2,500 Marines.
In separate comments, US President Donald Trump stated that the US has targeted locations where Iran manufactures drones used to attack US and Israeli assets. “Iran has very little combat power remaining. We have destroyed their manufacturing capability,” he said on Monday.
“Similarly, the number of drones has been drastically reduced, to approximately 20 per cent of what they possessed. Beginning yesterday, we have struck the places where they produce them,” Trump added.
