Ali Khamenei and the Islamic Revolution
More than a week after the death of the highest leader of the Shia Muslim community in Iran, Ali Khamenei, on 1 March 2026, it represents profound grief among the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Islamic countries in the Middle East, and nations with Muslim majorities worldwide.
Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, died as a result of an airstrike carried out by US and Israeli military forces against several targets in Tehran. The Islamic Republic of Iran has announced a 40-day mourning period for the passing of the nation’s highest leader. Mojtaba Khamenei has replaced the late Ali Khamenei.
This death may be celebrated proudly by America, Israel, and their allies. However, it should be remembered that such events can foster an even fiercer spirit of resistance from the Iranian people and supporters of their highest leader, who has become a martyr due to the military invasion by nations opposing the political policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In my view, this is something that countries supporting America and Israel need to pay attention to, regarding the solidarity that may emerge from empathy and condemnation towards America and Israel.
Islamic Revolution Volume II
We remember that in 1979, the Shah Pahlavi regime, supported by America, was overthrown by charismatic figures of the Islamic Republic of Iran. At that time, Ayatollah Imam Khomeini, as the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with other Iranian Islamic figures such as Murtadha Mutahhari, Ali Shariati, including Ali Khamenei, became supporters in the fight against Reza Pahlavi. After the death of Ayatollah Imam Khomeini, Ali Khamenei became his successor from 1981 to 2026 until his death due to the US and Israeli airstrike invasion.
Looking at the events of 1979, it is not impossible that this will rekindle the spirit of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Volume II to fight against the tyranny of America and Israel. America’s desire to turn Iran into a puppet state by installing a president of its choosing cannot be realised. Even the Iranian people, who are highly loyal to their Supreme Leader, will soon mount resistance with all their strength and very high solidarity.
The solidarity of the Iranian people, whom we know are mostly of the Shia sect, will carry out resistance in the name of the dignity of Iranians and Shia people whose national sovereignty has been trampled by foreign nations. We know that America and Israel are the greatest enemies of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This is because America and Israel are seen as acting arbitrarily against the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran with various false accusations about nuclear armament and the undemocratic management of the state.
If an escalation of resistance and war occurs by the Iranian people as revenge against America and Israel, then the rise of Islam Volume II, which was never imagined before by the Donald Trump dictatorship regime, marks the beginning of open war in the Islamic world with America and Israel under Benjamin Netanyahu. The World War of Islam versus America-Israel signifies the existence of two opposing military and political ideological forces between one and the other.
America-Israel is on the anti-Islam sect, while Iran and its allies are on the sect defending Islam in the Middle East and the Islamic world in general. This is the era of the second volume of the clash of civilisations as predicted by Samuel Huntington, which ultimately proves true, because America along with Israel has sounded the drum of war with Semitic sect countries. The replacement of Ali Khamenei by Mojtaba Khamenei does not diminish the resistance against the US and Israel.
Delayed Peace
With the potential open war between America-Israel and their allies versus the Islamic Republic of Iran along with Islamic countries and Muslim-majority populations that sympathise and empathise with Iran, world peace in the Middle East in particular will be delayed.
America’s desire to foster peace in the Middle East and Islamic countries is merely pie in the sky. This is because America is opening new wounds in Islamic countries in the Middle East region and Muslim-populated countries.
America and Israel are indirectly sounding the drum for World War III by carrying out military invasions into Iran and several countries in Africa and the Middle East with Muslim populations such as Sudan, Afghanistan, and Iran.
Therefore, we are somewhat doubtful about the Board of Peace (BOP) established by America, and several supporting countries, including Indonesia, to create true peace in the Middle East region and other countries.
Even now, with the indiscriminate attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as other countries, we can say that America is building warfare in the name of world peace that it has created itself by seeking support from other countries.
The peace that America hopes will be created through the BOP is truly just pie in the sky. The BOP is really just a tool for political legitimation for America to carry out warfare and military invasions against other countries that America considers do not agree with world peace.
However, what actually happens is that America and Israel desire unconditional submission to American and Israeli foreign political and economic policies. If there is a country considered to resist, then military invasion will not hesitate to be launched immediately. Iran is the most recent proof of the arrogance of American political economy and Israeli support.
With the event of the US-Israeli military invasion into Iran that killed the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, world peace in the Middle East region and anti-American countries will increasingly strengthen solidarity in resistance.
We are still waiting for the reaction of the Republic of Turkey, which has so far supported Iran’s foreign policy and other Islamic countries.
