Behind every visible achievement, there is often a long journey filled with effort and perseverance. Such is the story of Alfina Putri Rahmadya, who joined as an Account Officer (AO) at PNM Mekaar’s Selebar Unit in Bengkulu in May 2018, when the unit was still in its early stages of development. At the same time, Alfina was continuing her university studies whilst working to help ease her family’s financial burden.

Guided by the principle of being useful to others, Alfina persevered in her work amid various challenges. Her determination to stay the course, learn, and grow became essential assets in fulfilling her dual role as a client mentor and a student pursuing her future.

As an AO, her initial challenge was not merely meeting targets but introducing the PNM Mekaar concept to the community. She had to convince prospective clients that PNM was not just a financing institution but a business companion for underprivileged women.

“At that time, many did not yet understand the concept of mentoring. We came not only bearing financing but also education and the spirit of growing together,” said Alfina. Trust grew gradually. Business groups were formed, and women in her supervised areas began to experience the benefits of sustained mentoring.

Through consistent hard work and discipline, Alfina also experienced how the company provided space for employee self-development. She attended various training programmes in Medan, Palembang, and Jakarta — experiences that saw her board an aeroplane for the first time and opened new horizons on leadership.

“Every training session opened a new perspective. I learned not only about work but about building mental resilience, leadership, and the courage to dream bigger,” she said. Her dedication led to her being entrusted as the Mekaar Area Head in Mukomuko, leading eight units serving thousands of empowered underprivileged women.

Appreciation for her dedication was expressed through the Umrah pilgrimage she received as a reward. For Alfina Putri Rahmadya, the journey to the Holy Land of Mecca was not merely an award but a reminder of every process, struggle, and step she had undertaken.

PNM Corporate Secretary Dodot Patria Ary said that every PNM employee who works with heart is a reflection of the company’s culture. “We believe in the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) message that the best of people are those who are most beneficial to others,” he said.

He added that when such values live within an employee — reflected through hard work, discipline, and sincerity in service — the company is obliged to be present to appreciate and support their journey. “What Alfina has achieved today is a form of honour for the benefit she has spread to many people,” said Dodot.
