Alfamart's Free Warung Scheme Distributes 60,000 Iftar Packages Across 34 Cities
As Ramadan draws to a close, Alfamart’s Free Warung programme continues to distribute Iftar meal packages across 34 Indonesian cities. Through partnerships with 102 small-scale warung (food stall) operators, 60,000 meal packages have been distributed throughout the month of Ramadan.
This year’s programme has been supported by WINGS Group through various products including Kecap Sedaap, Mama Lemon, So Fresh, Ciptadent, and Top Coffee, as well as Bank Aladin Syariah.
Since its launch in 2021, the Free Warung initiative has reached over 150,000 beneficiaries whilst involving hundreds of small warung operators across various regions. Throughout this Ramadan, the Free Warung Alfamart programme has continued to operate consistently as part of the company’s charitable efforts during the holy month.
Solihin, Corporate Affairs Director of Alfamart, stated that the Free Warung programme represents the company’s commitment to sustainable social responsibility. “This programme has been consistently implemented since its inception in 2021. Every year we continue to expand our reach and the number of beneficiaries. This year, 60,000 Iftar meal packages have been distributed across 34 cities throughout Ramadan,” Solihin said in a written statement on 12 March 2026.
This was announced during the programme’s launch in Tangerang on 26 February. According to Solihin, the initiative not only provides social benefits to recipient communities but also generates economic impact for small business operators. “We have engaged 102 warung owners as food provision partners. This involvement delivers meaningful microeconomic benefits that can be felt collectively. Combined with our mobile warung service, the programme’s reach has become increasingly extensive,” he added.
The involvement of 102 warung operators across 34 cities in this year’s Free Warung Alfamart programme has even received recognition from Indonesia’s World Record Museum (MURI) as the ‘Largest Number of Iftar Package Presentations by Food Stalls’.
This award serves as evidence that the programme not only facilitates charitable activities but also promotes the empowerment of small business operators to enable their continued growth.
Sheila Kansil, Head of Corporate Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility at WINGS Group, stated that one of WINGS Group’s commitments to creating social impact is realised through sustainable charitable activities by continuing to support this programme following their participation in previous years. “Through WINGS Group’s social commitment, we see this programme delivering direct benefits to communities in need of Iftar meals. This aligns with WINGS Group’s commitment to bringing goodness accessible to all people to create better lives through ‘Life Keeps Getting Better’. Additionally, the empowered warung operators also experience its benefits. For this reason, we continue to support this programme by involving more product lines that participate, such as Kecap Sedaap, Mama Lemon, So Fresh, Ciptadent, and TOP Coffee as quality products supporting community needs this Ramadan,” Sheila explained.
Support also came from Bank Aladin Syariah, which has consistently been part of this programme. Koko Rachmadi, President Director of Bank Aladin Syariah, stated that participation in this programme represents a tangible expression of the company’s commitment to social benefit. “As a strategic partner, we believe that strong collaboration must be able to deliver wide-ranging benefits. Through the Free Warung Alfamart programme, we wish to help bring simple joy during Ramadan whilst strengthening synergy between digital Islamic banking and retail networks that remain close to communities,” Koko said.
Mobile Food Trucks Reach More Beneficiaries
This year’s Free Warung Alfamart implementation also introduces a new innovation compared to previous years: the deployment of mobile food trucks that also distribute Iftar meal packages.
These food trucks operate across four cities—Tangerang, Bandung, Semarang, and Yogyakarta—to reach more members of the community in need during Ramadan.
Through these various collaborations, the Free Warung Alfamart programme is expected to continue delivering benefits to communities whilst supporting the sustainability of small warung operator businesses.
