Alert Status 1! Military Commander Orders Personnel and Equipment Readiness

JAKARTA — The Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), General Agus Subiyanto, has issued an alert status 1 telegram to all TNI units.

The Head of the TNI Information Centre, Brigadier General Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, confirmed the existence of the telegram when contacted by Kompas.com on Saturday, 7 March 2026 evening.

“The TNI serves professionally and responsively, realised by consistently maintaining capability and strength to remain operationally ready, and prepared to anticipate developments in the strategic international, regional and national environment,” said Aulia.

The telegram, numbered TR/283/2026, contains several directives. First, the Commander of the Main Operations Command (Pangkotamaops) is instructed to deploy personnel and major weapons systems.

Additionally, they are ordered to conduct patrols at strategic vital objects and economic centres, including airports, seaports/river ports, railway stations, bus terminals and PLN (State Electricity Company) offices.

Third, the Strategic Intelligence Agency (Bais) of the TNI is instructed to order defence attachés at Indonesian diplomatic missions in countries affected by conflicts to gather data and map the situation of Indonesian nationals.

“Where necessary and in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indonesian embassies and relevant authorities in accordance with the escalation in the Middle Eastern region,” the telegram stated.

Fourth, Kodam Jaya (Jakarta Military Command) is ordered to increase patrols at various strategic vital objects and the areas around foreign embassies in the Jakarta Special Region to maintain conducive security conditions.

Fifth, all central implementing bodies (Balakpus) of the TNI are instructed to implement alert readiness in their respective units.

Sixth, every development and situation occurring in the field must be immediately reported to the TNI Commander.

“This telegram is an order,” the message stated.
