Alcatel integrates Shanghai Bell
PARIS: French telecommunications equipment maker Alcatel has
completed steps to integrate Chinese telecom company Shanghai
Bell, which it acquired seven months ago, Alcatel said here
Tuesday.
Alcatel Shanghai Bell, in which Alcatel has a 50.001 percent
stake, is expected to post sales of $2billion (2.2 billion euros)
in its first year of operation, the French group added.
The new entity, which could one day be traded on the stock
exchange in China, brings together Alcatel China, Shanghai Bell
and Shanghai Bell Mobile Communications.--AFP
