Al-Sabah renamed OCA president

KUWAIT CITY (Xinhua): Kuwait Olympic Committee Chairman Sheikh
Ahmad Al-Fahd Al-Sabah was elected on Tuesday evening president
of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) for the third consecutive
term.

During the 18th session of the AOC general assembly concluding
Tuesday, Baba San Min from Hong Kong, China was elected as OCA's
vice president for East Asia, Indonesia's Mohammad "Bob" Hasan
was elected as vice president for Southeast Asia, Latif Batt from
Pakistan for South Central Asia and Samih Mudalal from Syria for
West Asia.

Chairmen and members of AOC's seven subcommittees were also
elected during the two-day session.

The assembly recommended, after length discussions, the
addition of kabadi, squash and karate to the 27 games in the
agenda for the next Asian Games slated for Pusan, South Korea, in
2002.
