Al-Quds Volunteer Indonesia Distributes Nutritious Meals to Orphans in Gaza
Al-Quds Volunteer Indonesia (AVI) has distributed its inaugural Nutritious Food for Gaza programme to dozens of orphans in the Al Mawashi area of Khan Younis, Gaza, Palestine, as part of efforts to meet the food needs of orphaned children. The aid was distributed by AVI volunteers in Gaza, with food packages prepared according to the nutritional needs of the beneficiaries and using menus familiar to the local community. “Nutritious food not only helps meet the children’s physical needs but also serves as a form of care and support from the Indonesian people to their brothers and sisters in Gaza,” said AVI Volunteer Coordinator in Gaza, Ahmad Ibrahim Asthal, in a statement received in Jakarta on Friday. Ahmad explained that each nutritious meal package consists of Gaza-style spiced rice, chicken, vegetables (pickles), apples, nuts, and milk. All packages were distributed directly to 50 orphans located in the Al Mawashi area of Khan Younis. The Nutritious Food for Gaza programme was launched as an initiative to help meet the nutritional needs of children amidst limited access to food. Beyond fulfilling daily dietary requirements, the programme is expected to support the health and immune systems of children living in a prolonged conflict situation. Al-Quds Volunteer Indonesia expressed appreciation for the Indonesian people who have participated in the programme. The support from donors enabled the aid to be channelled directly to beneficiaries through the network of volunteers in Gaza. “AVI hopes the Nutritious Food for Gaza Programme can be implemented sustainably so that it can reach more children and families in need across various regions of Gaza,” he said. Al-Quds Volunteer Indonesia (AVI) is a humanitarian organisation focused on channelling aid to the Palestinian people and implementing various humanitarian programmes in Indonesia. Through collaboration with volunteers on the ground, AVI distributes food, health, education, and other social programme assistance to communities affected by crises.
