Al-Nahdlah Islamic Boarding School in Depok Receives 1,000 Qur'ans
Depok – Yayasan Muslim Sinar Mas (YMSM) has endowded 1,000 Qur’an copies to the Al-Nahdlah Islamic Boarding School in Depok, West Java. The endowment is intended to encourage the santri to deepen their faith through reading and studying the Qur’an, especially during Ramadan. YMSM’s General Chairman Saleh Husin said Ramadan is an important moment for Muslims to draw closer to the Qur’an through tadarus and to understand its meanings. “May what we endow contribute to shaping the faith of the santri and santriwati here. Particularly in Ramadan, known as the month of the Qur’an, where we engage in tadarus, interpret, and then practise what it contains, with intensity,” Saleh Husin said on Sunday, 8 March 2026. The symbolic handover of the Qur’an copies was made to the caretaker of Al-Nahdlah Islamic Boarding School, KH M Asrorun Ni’am Sholeh. The event was also attended by YMSM’s Board of Trustees member Burhanudin Amin and Supervisory Board member Suwandi. Burhanudin Amin hopes the assistance will add to the students’ enthusiasm in pursuing knowledge, especially amid Ramadan, while also remembering to engage in tadarus and to observe fasting smoothly, he said. For information, YMSM is a platform for Islam practices within the Sinar Mas environment that emphasises openness, tolerance, equality, and compassion. In addition to internal activities, the foundation also maintains active communication with various figures and institutions with a similar vision. Since 2008, with support from APP Group, YMSM has distributed around 1.4 million Qur’an copies to various parts of Indonesia. The distribution is carried out through Sinar Mas’ business pillars spread across the country, reaching religious institutions, educational institutions, communities, and even units of the Indonesian National Armed Forces and Police (TNI-Polri), including in the outermost regions of the Nusantara.
