The development of large-scale residential areas in Serang Regency, Banten, is increasingly focusing on providing social and religious facilities as instruments to strengthen community ecosystems. This is marked by the inauguration of Masjid Al-Kautsar in the Mulia Gading Kencana (MGK) housing estate on Saturday (25/4/2026), which is projected to become the centre of residents’ activities. The inauguration was attended by central and local authorities, including representatives from the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas as well as the Serang Regency Government. The President Director of Infinity Triniti Jaya, Samuel S Huang, emphasised that providing the mosque is part of the developer’s commitment to completing basic infrastructure for thousands of families who have already occupied MGK. “Praise and gratitude we offer to the Almighty God for the completion of the construction of Masjid Al-Kautsar. We hope this mosque can be used to the best by all MGK housing residents as a place of worship and to build harmonious relations,” said Samuel, quoted by Kompas.com on Monday (27/4/2026). Meanwhile, the Director General of Village Economic Development and Investment (PEID) from the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kemendes PDT), Tabrani, appreciated the developer’s initiative for not delaying the construction of public facilities until the project is fully completed. According to him, accessibility to places of worship is a basic right of consumers that must be fulfilled by every subsidised housing developer. Tabrani assured that the Government continues to encourage developers to consistently provide adequate social and public facilities. In line with this, the Regent of Serang, Ratu Rachmatuzzakiyah, highlighted the strategic role of the mosque in maintaining social stability in new urban areas. She assessed that the MGK housing contributes significantly to reducing the housing backlog in Serang Regency, but she reminded that environmental management aspects should remain a priority. “I entrust a message to the residents to maintain and care for this mosque together, and to use it as a means to strengthen brotherhood and create a safe and comfortable environment,” said the Regent of Serang. Mulia Gading Kencana itself is one of the strategic integrated housing projects in Serang, complete with transportation access and industrial zones. With thousands of units already absorbed by the market, the presence of facilities like Masjid Al-Kautsar adds value that improves the living standards of low-income communities (MBR). In the future, the MGK area is projected to continue developing into a new self-sufficient city capable of balancing residential functions with meeting the spiritual and social needs of its residents.
