Al Chaidar to be questioned on Wednesday

JAKARTA: Darul Islam (DI) spokesman Al Chaidar has been
summoned to attend police headquarters on Wednesday to explain
his media statement regarding the involvement of three DI
factions in the bombing of Petra church in North Jakarta and the
explosion of a grenade at the Australian International School in
South Jakarta.

"We sent our letter today to Al Chaidar (summoning him) for
questioning on Wednesday," Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr.
Anton Bachrul Alam said on Monday.

Anton said information given by Al Chaidar might be beneficial
to the police's investigations into several bombing cases in the
country.

"But, we will first ascertain whether or not his statement is
supported by witnesses and strong evidence," he said.

Anton vowed the police would provide protection to Al Chaidar
as a witness if needed. --JP
