Al-Azhar Grand Mosque distributes sacrificial meat to foundations and residents
The management of Al-Azhar Grand Mosque in South Jakarta will distribute sacrificial meat to eligible recipients, including foundations and residents, during Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah.
‘Our sacrificial animals are always distributed to those entitled,’ said Tatang Komara, Head of Al-Azhar Grand Mosque Office, during an interview in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He explained that the distribution is carried out both on-site and via delivery to various locations.
The distribution includes pre-packaged meat or freshly slaughtered animals.
‘We deliver to foundations, mosques, and institutions,’ Tatang stated.
To date, he confirmed that the sacrificial animals are sourced from the Jusuf Kalla family.
Tatang expressed hope that this year’s sacrifice will proceed smoothly while strengthening community solidarity.
‘We prioritise three aspects: safety, hygiene, and compliance with religious guidelines,’ he added.
Separately, the mosque management aims to receive 12 cows and 50 goats for this year’s Eid al-Adha sacrifices.
They have ensured all animals undergo health checks and are accompanied by health clearance certificates.
Additionally, the mosque has prepared an environmentally friendly waste management system for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah.
Animal waste, including offal, intestines, and excrement, will be disposed of in specially prepared pits by the committee.
