Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Akulaku Finance Indonesia has entered into a funding agreement worth IDR 500 billion with PT Bank Danamon Indonesia Tbk (Danamon) to strengthen its financing capacity and support the growth of digital financing services in Indonesia. The funding facility will be utilised to support Akulaku Finance’s working capital needs in response to the increasing public demand for digital financing services.

“This support is expected to strengthen the company’s capacity to provide relevant financing solutions for various segments of society,” said Perry Barman Slangor, President Director of Akulability Finance Indonesia, in a statement in Jakarta on Monday. The collaboration reflects the strengthening synergy between banking institutions and digital financing companies in addressing evolving financial service needs.

“This cooperation is part of our efforts to continuously and optimally strengthen the company’s funding structure. The synergy with Danamon is expected to support the development of financing services that are increasingly relevant to societal needs while strengthening the company’s growth foundation for the future,” Perry added.

Akulaku Finance, which operates within the Akulaku Group ecosystem, is a strategic partner of Danamon. This financing is part of Danamon’s efforts to drive the growth of its financial group, which is supported by MUFG Bank, Ltd. (MUFG) as the parent company. For Danamon, this partnership aligns with the bank’s commitment to providing holistic financial solutions tailored to customer needs, including for the digital financing sector, which plays a significant role in reaching the expanding financial needs of the population.

“Danamon views the cooperation with PT Akulaku Finance Indonesia as a strategic step in strengthening financing support for the technology-based multi-finance sector in Indonesia. Through the provision of this working capital facility, we hope to enhance the funding capacity of Akulaku Finance Indonesia to serve public financing needs responsibly and sustainably,” explained Jin Yoshida, Director of Global Alliance Strategy at Danamon.

With this agreement, both companies hope to provide financial solutions that are increasingly relevant to societal needs and the development of the digital economy. Amidst the growth of Indonesia’s digital economy, collaboration between banking institutions and digital financing companies is becoming increasingly vital in supporting the expansion of formal financial services.
