JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Former Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit (Kasat) at Bima City Police, AKP Malaungi, arrived at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency building in Jakarta on Thursday afternoon (7/5/2026) to undergo examination related to an alleged money laundering offence (TPPU) originating from narcotics crimes.
Kompas.com observations noted that Malaungi arrived at 4:30 PM WIB, wearing a jacket over a black T-shirt and a matching coloured mask.
He arrived in a black car and was accompanied by a woman known to be Ais Setiawati, the former wife of drug lord Erwin Iskandar alias Ko Erwin.
“This is us from the NTB Provincial Police bringing him based on the request from the Head of the Narcotics Criminal Directorate at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency. We are bringing the suspect, former Bima City Narcotics Investigation Unit Head, Mr AKP Malaungi, along with the suspect Ais Setiawati, who we will take to the Narcotics Criminal Directorate at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency for examination in connection with the TPPU case,” said the Deputy Head of Subdirectorate 3 of the NTB Provincial Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate, Kompol Bowo Tri Handoko, when met at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency in Jakarta on Thursday.
Bowo stated that the examination of Malaungi and Ais is the first in the TPPU case.
“Yes,” Bowo replied when asked if it was the first examination.
However, the entire examination process is being conducted by investigators from the Narcotics Criminal Directorate at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency.
This TPPU case is a development from the previous narcotics misuse case that ensnared Didik.
The Director of Narcotics Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigjen Eko Hadi Santoso, said that investigators have determined five suspects in the TPPU case related to the narcotics crime.
“On Wednesday, 29 April 2026, the investigation team conducted a case review for determining suspect status in the TPPU with narcotics predicate offence,” said Eko on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
In addition to Didik, the other four suspects are AKP Malaungi, drug lord Abdul Hamid alias Boy, Ko Erwin’s younger brother Alex Iskandar, and Ko Erwin’s former wife, Ais Setiawati.
Didik’s career in the National Police has ended after being imposed with an dishonourable discharge sanction (PTDH) through the National Police Code of Ethics Commission trial in February 2026.
He was found guilty of violating the code of ethics related to narcotics misuse and deviant behaviour.
The Head of the Public Information Bureau of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigjen Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, previously stated that Didik was proven to have received money and narcotics from his subordinate, AKP Malaungi.
“The source from AKP Malaungi, which originated from the drug perpetrator lord in the Bima City area,” said Trunoyudo.
