Akbar not serious about Wiranto: Gus Dur

JAKARTA: Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid, leader and co-founder of
the National Awakening Party (PKB), accused Golkar Party chairman
Akbar Tandjung on Friday for not being serious in supporting Gen.
(ret) Wiranto and Solahuddin Wahid in their campaigns.

"Golkar Party executives are not serious, as we can see from
their failure to raise campaign funds for Wiranto and
Solahuddin," said Gus Dur.

Wiranto became the Golkar candidacy over rival Akbar in a
surprise win at the party's May convention.

The two parties have formally expressed their support for
Wiranto-Solahuddin, but Gus Dur has repeatedly said he would
remain neutral in the election. -- Antara
