Tangerang (ANTARA) — Tangerang City Metropolitan Police have implemented traffic management measures following a collision between airport train No. 805–806A and a trailer truck at a level crossing near Poris Station, Batuceper sub-district, Tangerang City, at approximately 06:05 local time on Friday.

Tangerang City Metropolitan Police Chief Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari said in Tangerang on Friday that the train accident had rendered Jalan Maulana Hasanudin temporarily impassable.

Officers from the Tangerang City Metropolitan Police, together with relevant agencies, immediately began directing and diverting vehicle traffic to ease congestion at the scene.

“Traffic management has been put in place to maintain the flow of vehicles and ensure public safety. We have also deployed personnel in the field to assist motorists in finding alternative routes,” the police chief said.

The traffic diversions in effect are as follows: vehicles travelling from the direction of Jakarta (Jalan Daan Mogot) towards Cipondoh via Jalan Maulana Hasanudin are being diverted at the Ampera T-junction onto Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and then to Jalan KH Hasyim Ashari.

Vehicles coming from Cipondoh (Jalan KH Hasyim Ashari) heading towards Jalan Daan Mogot (Batuceper/Jakarta) are being diverted via Jalan Benteng Betawi to Jalan Jenderal Sudirman.

Vehicles from Jalan Benteng Betawi intending to travel to Jakarta via Jalan Maulana Hasanudin are being rerouted via Jalan KH Hasyim Ashari, the Gondrong traffic lights, Jalan H Mansyur, and Jalan KH Ahmad Dahlan.

The police chief urged the public to avoid the area temporarily and to follow the directions of officers on the ground.

“We urge motorists to remain orderly, be patient, and comply with officers’ instructions for everyone’s safety,” he concluded.

KAI Commuter Vice President of Corporate Secretary Karina Amanda stated that there were no casualties in the incident, with all passengers safe and having been evacuated.

For passengers of Commuter Line No. 806 heading to the airport, KAI Commuter has provided replacement transport to continue their journey to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Karina added.
