Families can collect Hajj pilgrims at the Hajj dormitory upon arrival at all airports. Tangerang (ANTARA) – PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) has confirmed that elderly and disabled-friendly facilities at 14 Indonesian airports are prepared to accommodate 200,000 Hajj pilgrims returning between 1 June and 1 July 2026. Director General of InJourney Airports, Mohammad R. Pahlevi, stated in a written statement received in Tangerang on Monday that the main focus during the pilgrims’ return phase is ensuring smooth arrival processes through staff readiness, facilities, and coordination with all stakeholders to provide fast, accurate, and seamless services. ‘From flight slot allocation, taxiway usage, aircraft parking assignment, to bus transportation of pilgrims from airports to the dormitory,’ he said. To ensure smooth services, the arrival procedures have been tailored to each airport’s characteristics after discussions with all stakeholders, including the Hajj Organizing Committee, InJourney Airports, airlines, AirNav Indonesia, Quarantine, Immigration, and Customs. At Indonesia’s busiest airport, Soekarno-Hatta, Hajj pilgrims are served at the dedicated Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F, equipped with amenities for passenger comfort and separate from regular flight passengers. ‘Families can collect Hajj pilgrims at the Hajj dormitory upon arrival at all airports,’ he added. Pahlevi further stated that all 14 airports welcoming returning pilgrims are equipped with elderly and disabled-friendly facilities. Special officers have been deployed to assist elderly and disabled pilgrims, such as providing wheelchairs during their airport stay. ‘Airports also have health facilities to serve pilgrims in need,’ he said.
