Airport Authority Confirms Susi Air Passengers Safe After Return to Samrat Airport
The Head of the Region VIII Airport Authority Office (Otban), Ambar Suryoko, has confirmed that passengers on a Susi Air flight landed safely at Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado after encountering bad weather. “We confirm that the 12 passengers and crew of Susi Air on the Manado-Melonguane route, Talaud Islands Regency, returned to Samrat Airport safely,” said Ambar Suryoko in Manado on Wednesday. He stated that the Susi Air aircraft, registered PK-BVE and operating flight number SI 6317 from Manado to Melonguane, performed a Return To Base to Sam Ratulangi Airport because weather conditions made it impossible to continue the flight. “The aircraft landed via runway 18 at 14:33 WITA,” he said. He noted that the Susi Air plane experienced an incident which was handled in accordance with applicable procedures. All passengers and crew were in safe condition. All passengers received the necessary assistance and have since returned to their respective homes. The current condition at Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado is observed to be safe and under control. Passenger safety and security is the top priority, and together with relevant parties, the Region VIII Airport Authority Office in Manado ensured the entire handling process was carried out according to regulations. Samrat Airport operates 24 hours a day and is ready to serve both domestic and international flights.
