AirNav strengthens aviation navigation modernisation

Perum Lembaga Penyelenggara Pelayanan Navigasi Penerbangan Indonesia (LPPNPI), or AirNav Indonesia, is strengthening the modernisation of aviation navigation services through a partnership with Airservices Australia. The move was formalised with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two agencies on Monday. “The main objective is how AirNav Indonesia and Airservices Australia can realise aviation navigation services that are safer, more efficient, and sustainable, both in Indonesian airspace and the Asia-Pacific region,” said AirNav Indonesia President Director Avirianto Suratno in Tangerang, Banten. According to him, the cooperation provides a foundation for both institutions to collaborate on strengthening airspace modernisation, human resource development, safety enhancement, and the utilisation of technology and innovation. There are four main areas of focus: airspace modernisation and operational innovation, human resource development, safety, risk and sustainability, and the alignment of international and regional strategies. “Through this collaboration, both organisations will share experiences, knowledge, and best practices in supporting the transformation of aviation navigation services capable of meeting the challenges of the future aviation industry,” he explained. Avirianto expressed hope that AirNav Indonesia can accelerate knowledge exchange to develop human resource capacity, including the use of innovation to deliver increasingly safe, efficient, and sustainable aviation navigation services. “Beyond that, this cooperation also strengthens Indonesia’s contribution to advancing aviation navigation in the Asia-Pacific region,” he said. Meanwhile, Airservices Australia Chief Executive Officer Rob Sharp stated that the partnership serves as an important foundation for strengthening collaboration between the two organisations in driving innovation and capability development for aviation navigation service providers in the Asia-Pacific region. “We hope that through this cooperation, AirNav Indonesia and Airservices Australia can share their best experiences and expertise to collaborate, delivering aviation navigation services that benefit the development of the aviation industry, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region,” he said. Under this cooperation, Airservices Australia is committed to continuing to build a mutually beneficial partnership to support the advancement of aviation navigation, strengthen regional connectivity, and contribute to the creation of a safer, more efficient, innovative, and sustainable air transportation system.
