Airlangga Urges Issuers to Strengthen Performance to Maintain Market Confidence
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto has urged all listed companies to strengthen their performance, governance, and transparency in order to maintain market confidence and support economic stability and the national investment climate.
“Several things need to be strengthened by issuers, namely maintaining performance, maintaining governance, and also making optimal use of the capital market,” Airlangga said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Airlangga made the remarks while attending the 2026 Members’ Assembly of the Indonesian Issuers Association (AEI), which carried the theme “Regaining Investor Trust: Navigating the Future of Indonesian Listed Companies”.
According to Airlangga, the theme is highly relevant because investor confidence is the main capital for companies to expand investment, increase business expansion, and strengthen competitiveness in the capital market.
He affirmed that the government continues to support the business world through the Debottlenecking Task Force, which was established to help quickly resolve various investment and operational obstacles faced by companies.
He revealed that the Debottlenecking Task Force has received 170 complaints from business actors and successfully resolved 124 issues as part of efforts to strengthen national business certainty.
Hartarto encouraged companies facing obstacles to immediately report their problems to the Debottlenecking Task Force so that the government can provide direct solutions and business activities can continue to run optimally.
According to him, the capital market is a window into the national economy, so the credibility of listed companies must be continuously maintained through sound, accountable, and long-term-oriented business management.
Airlangga assessed that good company prospects, supported by transparency and increased public share ownership, will strengthen investor confidence without the need to worry excessively about assessments by international rating agencies.
He expressed hope that the 2026 AEI Members’ Assembly would produce a leadership capable of strengthening the organisation, so that issuers become more solid in maintaining market confidence and supporting national economic growth.
Chairman of the Indonesian Issuers Association (AEI) Armand Wahyudi Hartono affirmed that strengthening investor confidence will be the organisation’s main focus over the next three years, through improving the fundamentals of listed companies.
According to Armand, market confidence must be built on strong company performance, good governance, consistent communication, as well as collaboration among all capital market ecosystem players and investor education.
He said AEI will strengthen its advocacy function by gathering members’ aspirations to be conveyed as constructive input on various policies and regulations related to the Indonesian capital market.
In addition to advocacy, AEI will expand information dissemination, research, education, and knowledge-sharing programmes so that issuers have better capabilities in facing future business changes and challenges.
Armand stressed that every programme run by AEI must provide tangible benefits for members, so that listed companies become stronger, more adaptive, and able to improve competitiveness in the capital market.
Facing global and domestic challenges, AEI will remain focused on strengthening the fundamentals of the organisation and listed companies as the foundation for building an increasingly credible and world-class Indonesian capital market.
He is optimistic that the synergy of all board members, members, regulators, and capital market supporting organisations will strengthen investor confidence and encourage the Indonesian capital market to continue growing sustainably at the global level.
“In line with today’s theme, we will build trust, starting from performance fundamentals, governance, good corporate governance, consistent communication, as well as working together with the entire SRO (Self-Regulatory Organization) ecosystem and the public, as well as investor education, so that in the long term the Indonesian capital market continues to advance,” Armand said.
