Airlangga University Processes Ethics Case of Student Couple in Classroom, Parents Summoned
Universitas Airlangga (Unair) is processing a pair of students who committed indecent acts in one of the university’s classrooms. Unair has confirmed that sanctions against the students involved will be decided shortly after the Ethics Commission’s examination.
“If we are talking about it, the existence of the video is indeed confirmed. But now the mechanism has entered the Ethics Commission to be investigated further regarding the circulating case. Therefore, Unair is currently striving to provide something objective, professional, and prioritises the protection of the rights of all parties involved,” said Head of the Public Relations and Protocol Centre (PHMP) at Unair, Pulung Siswantara, as reported by detikJatim on Saturday (20/6/2026).
Pulung revealed that sanctions against the students involved will be issued soon after the examination is completed. In addition to examining the students involved, Unair has also summoned both of their parents to investigate the case further.
“The parents are also being examined. Because these children are still under parental supervision, we have therefore brought the parents in to explore the background of this behaviour,” he said.
“(Regarding the two students) because it is currently the holiday period, they are not engaged in activities. And indeed, they are currently being examined by the Ethics Commission,” he added.
Nevertheless, Pulung could not yet confirm the form of sanctions to be imposed, including the possibility of suspension. His office is still awaiting the results of the Ethics Commission’s examination.
