Jakarta – The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, told President Prabowo Subianto that business associations both domestic and foreign have welcomed the establishment of the state-owned Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI). He said the appreciation was conveyed during a meeting with associations regarding outreach on export proceeds and export via the DSI. ‘They appreciate the policy taken by the government,’ Airlangga said after meeting President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Friday. According to Airlangga, nearly all business associations expressed support for the government’s policy and were ready to cooperate with the body formed by the government. ‘They are ready to work with the body established by the government,’ he said. Before meeting Prabowo, Airlangga had said that industry associations gave a positive response to the formation of PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI). He noted the associations understood the formation of the DSI and were preparing for its implementation. ‘The response is positive. So the associations understand and are preparing for implementation,’ he said at the Presidential Palace Complex on Friday afternoon. Airlangga said the associations also provided input on the importance of transparency and clarity regarding the formation and the structure of the new body. ‘What they are asking for, of course, is transparency and clarity of the regulator for the new SOE,’ he added. Earlier, Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Investment and Integration and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Danantara Indonesia, said they were listening to feedback and conducting outreach with palm oil and iron alloy associations on the establishment of PT DSI. ‘Today’s meeting, we will listen first. Then this afternoon we will reach out to all associations, Kadin, Apindo, palm oil associations, APBI, coal, and all of them. We will also do outreach; we start at 4 pm,’ Rosan said at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Thursday (21/5). President Prabowo Subianto, in a Plenary Meeting of the DPR at the Nusantara Building, Complex of MPR, DPR, DPD RI, Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/5), announced that the government had issued a Government Regulation (PP) on the Governance of Export of Natural Resource Commodities (SDA). In the latest PP, Prabowo stated that the regulation makes state-owned enterprises the sole exporters for palm oil, coal, and ferro alloys, with sales routed through designated Indonesian state-owned enterprises as the sole exporters.
