Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (Ministry for Economic Affairs) Airlangga Hartarto reported to President Prabowo Subianto on the readiness of implementing the governance framework for the export of natural resources (SDA) carried out by PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) starting 1 June 2026.

Airlangga said there are two main agendas discussed in the report to the President, namely the implementation of the foreign exchange earnings policy (DHE), and the mechanism for DSI’s export of strategic commodities.

“Earlier I reported to the President regarding the plan to implement two things, namely the implementation of foreign exchange earnings from exports that will take place directly on 1 June tomorrow, and the implementation of exports of CPO, coal, and ferroalloys that will be carried out by DSI,” Airlangga said at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday.

According to him, the government is preparing various regulatory instruments to support the implementation of the policy.

Airlangga assured that all supporting rules are targeted to be completed before the policy is applied on 1 June 2026.

In addition to drafting regulations, the government will also socialise with associations of business players related to the export sector of the said commodities.

“Secondly, socialisation with the associations will also be carried out this afternoon at 16:00 WIB, so that the associations concerned are aware of the policies that will be created by the government,” Airlangga said.

DSI will be operated in two stages. In the first stage, namely from 1 June to 31 December 2026, DSI will act as evaluator and intermediary between sellers and buyers of certain export commodities.

Subsequently, from January 2027, DSI will transform into a trading company that directly buys commodities from exporters, holds the goods, and bears trading risks before selling them to the international market.

The proceeds from the sale of these commodities will be received in foreign currency in line with the destination country of the transaction, while continuing to follow international trade practices. The funds from the sale will subsequently be returned entirely to Indonesia.
