Airlangga: PT DSI Targets Full Operations by January 2027
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto revealed the results of the Supervisory Board meeting of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) held at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, Monday (15/6). The meeting specifically discussed asset management performance reports, investment strategy, and the operational readiness of PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI). Airlangga explained that a crucial point in the meeting was ensuring PT DSI can be fully operational by the beginning of next year. This step is part of the transformation of national strategic resource management. “First, of course, reporting related to Danantara’s performance. Both regarding asset management, investment, and then also reported regarding DSI. DSI was also a topic of discussion because it is expected that by 1 January 2027 it can be fully operational,” Airlangga said after the meeting, Monday (15/6). However, Airlangga stressed that the Supervisory Board meeting this time did not discuss the addition of new commodities to be managed by DSI. According to him, the current focus is on maturing the existing structure, while the addition of commodity sectors is the authority of the central government. For information, the government has imposed an obligation on Natural Resource exporting companies to report their export activities to PT DSI since 1 June 2026. This policy aims to strengthen the validity of strategic commodity data and maintain the stability of the country’s foreign exchange reserves. The reporting system is now integrated through the Customs Excise Information System and Automation (CEISA) 4.0 platform owned by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance. In the initial stage, this one-stop reporting mechanism is focused on three main commodities, namely coal, palm oil, and ferroalloy. This implementation marks an important transition period in national export supervision. The government hopes that data integration through PT DSI can provide a more accurate picture of the flow of leading commodities that underpin Indonesia’s trade balance surplus.
