Airlangga and Purbaya Head to the Palace, What is Being Discussed?

detikcom observations at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Friday (27/3/2026) showed that Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto arrived at 12:58 WIB. Subsequently, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa also joined the meeting at the Palace.

Airlangga had little to say when asked about the results of a meeting at his office regarding the coal export duty. He proceeded directly into the Palace complex.

Purbaya had previously shared a moment when he was questioned by Prabowo about the sharp rise in global oil prices approaching US$100 per barrel due to the conflict in the Middle East.

Purbaya said that he had been invited to a meeting at Prabowo’s residence on Jalan Kertanegara in South Jakarta. During that meeting, Prabowo expressed his concerns about the rise in global oil prices, which could potentially disrupt the state budget.

“I was asked by the President, ‘How is the state budget?’, ‘It’s safe, Sir’, ‘What if US$100?’, ‘It’s safe, Sir, we’ve calculated up to US$100 and everything is secure’,” Purbaya recounted his meeting with Prabowo to the attendees at the inauguration of the new Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance in Central Jakarta on Friday (27/3).
