Airlangga and Purbaya Head to the Palace Amid Efficiency and WFH Plans

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto summoned several of his ministers to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday (27/3/2026). Kompas.com observations noted two of Prabowo’s ministers arriving at the Palace: Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto and Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. However, they did not disclose the content of the meeting to be discussed inside the Palace with Prabowo. Airlangga stated that he would report the results of the morning meeting held at the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy to the Head of State. “We will report to the President first,” Airlangga said briefly while walking through the Palace gates. Meanwhile, Purbaya claimed he did not yet know the topics for the afternoon meeting with Prabowo. “Not yet known,” Purbaya said briefly when asked by reporters. The government is known to be reviewing several steps for budget savings following the escalation of conflict in the Middle East after the United States (US) and Israel attacked Iran. The work-from-home policy for Civil Servants (ASN) and private sector workers for one day per week is said to have been approved by all ministers and is now awaiting instructions from Prabowo.
