Airfares from Bali Rise Further, Passengers Complain

Harga tiket pesawat dari Bali menuju sejumlah kota di Indonesia mengalami kenaikan dalam beberapa pekan terakhir. Kondisi ini dikeluhkan sejumlah penumpang di Ngurah Rai International Airport karena dinilai jauh lebih mahal dibanding tahun sebelumnya.

DetikBali’s monitoring of several flight-booking apps for departures on Thursday 21 May 2026 shows the Bali–Jakarta route priced from Rp 1.5 million on Lion Air to around Rp 2.2 million on Garuda Indonesia.

For the Bali–Yogyakarta route, the cheapest fares range from Rp 1.5 million on Super Air Jet to Rp 1.7 million with Garuda Indonesia. The Bali–Surabaya route sits around Rp 800,000 via Citilink to Rp 1.3 million. Meanwhile, the Bali–Kupang route reaches Rp 1.8 million with Super Air Jet up to Rp 2.7 million using NAM Air.

One passenger, Aldo, said he would travel from Bali to Kupang. He said he bought a Batik Air ticket for Rp 1.8 million about a week ago.

“I bought it last week, Batik Air Rp 1.8 million. That’s still cheap compared with others,” he said at Ngurah Rai Airport on Wednesday 20 May 2026, afternoon.

Nevertheless, Aldo judged the price to be still higher than last year. He said that in 2025 he could still obtain a ticket for around Rp 1.2 million.

Similar complaints were raised by another passenger, Citra from Kintamani. She said she had noticed an increase in airfares. Citra will travel to Bulgaria to work at a five‑star hotel and must transit in Jakarta first.

She said the Bali–Jakarta fare currently sits between Rp 1.5 million and Rp 1.7 million for a one-way journey.

“That’s quite expensive now. Last year I could get a return ticket for Rp 2.2 million with Lion Air,” she said.

Meanwhile, Dedun Gryana Pura, who had just returned from a holiday in Yogyakarta, also said she chose flying for faster travel. She bought a Garuda Indonesia ticket from Yogyakarta to Bali for Rp 1.5 million.

“I bought it at short notice. Departing Thursday to Friday. Usually you can still get Rp 1.1 million, now Rp 1.5 million is the cheapest,” she said.
