Aircraft Carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi to Arrive in Indonesia on 20 September 2026

The Directorate General of Defence Strength at the Ministry of Defence has announced that the aircraft carrier Giuseppe Garibaldi (C551) will arrive in Indonesia on 20 September 2026. The statement was made by Director General of Defence Strength, Air Marshal Hendrikus Haris Haryanto, during a hearing with the House of Representatives’ Commission I at the Parliament Complex in Central Jakarta on Monday. To prepare for the arrival of Indonesia’s first aircraft carrier, the Indonesian Navy has undertaken various measures, including the deployment of 100 personnel to Italy for training as the ship’s crew.
