AirAsia, Awair support Bali

DENPASAR: In order to support Bali after the Oct. 1 bombings, Air Asia, together with its sister company in Indonesia, PT Awair, have proactively launched a massive regional campaign to boost and encourage tourism in Bali.

Bearing the theme "To Bali With Love," the two airlines have to date given away 12,000 free seats to Bali to members of the public.

Marking the culmination of the month-long campaign, AirAsia and Awair gathered a group of prominent leaders from Malaysia and Indonesia consisting of top executives, media owners, TV personalities and local artists to fly in to Bali to lend their support.

The entourage was led by AirAsia group CEO Tony Fernandes and Awair president director Sendjaja Widjaya.

"Today, Malaysians, Indonesians, corporate leaders and artists have come together to show to the world that we will not let terrorism cripple Bali and our unique ASEAN spirit," said Fernandes. -- JP
