Air India offers Hyderabad stopover

JAKARTA: Air India has announced that it is providing a flight from Jakarta to Andhra Pradesh's capital of Hyderabad.

Previously, Air India's flight from Jakarta went to Bombay without a stopover in Hyderabad.

The new service started as of April 1, the airliner said in a news release on Thursday.

The new service was launched in order to boost tourism in the region, the release said.

Flights from Jakarta depart at 10:55 a.m every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday with a stopover in Singapore.

Hyderabad is said to have the charm of an Arabian Nights fairy tale, while serving as India's center for information technology. -- JP
