Air Force plans air exercise
MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: The Second Operational Command of
the Air Force is planning to hold an air exercise with targets at
NTB, short for West Nusa Tenggara.
The two-day exercise by the Ujungpandang-based command in
South Sulawesi, which opened on Tuesday, is held over the Rambang
air base in East Lombok regency, the Antara news agency said.
The operation, codenamed Sikatan Daya will involve two F-16
fighters, two F-5s, three A4 Skyhawks and two OVIO Bronco
aircraft.
Lt. Col. Soenjoto, spokesman of the command, said through the
exercise, the Indonesian Air Force is supposed to retake the
Rambang airbase which had fallen into enemy hands. (emb)
