Air Force Military Police Arrest Four Soldiers for Assaulting Sergeant AMF

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Indonesian Air Force Information Service, Air Vice Marshal I Nyoman Suadnyana, has confirmed that four soldiers involved in the assault of Sergeant AMF have been arrested by the Air Force Military Police (Pomau).

“They have been detained,” said Nyoman when confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Saturday.

However, Nyoman denied that AMF died as a result of the assault. He emphasised that the victim passed away during a “training” session.

He did not provide further clarification regarding the nature of this “training” activity.

As of now, Nyoman confirmed that the investigation by the Air Force Military Police is still ongoing.

Previously, the Indonesian Air Force has been investigating the case of assault that led to the death of one of its personnel, Sergeant AMF, on Thursday (10/9).

“The Air Force Military Police (Pomau) are currently investigating the alleged violence experienced by Sergeant AMF to fully uncover the chronology and facts related to the incident,” Nyoman stated, as quoted in a press release received on Friday (11/9).

The press release explained that Pomau has examined several witnesses to determine the chronology of the assault and the motives behind the incident.

The Air Force ensures that the entire legal process conducted by the Pomau investigators is proceeding independently, professionally, and in accordance with applicable regulations.
